Qatar LNG Company, known as “Qatargas,” stated that its liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, the Al Maydah, was attacked by unidentified objects while sailing in the Arabian Gulf on Friday evening.
In a statement published on the Qatar Stock Exchange today, the company confirmed that no crew members aboard the vessel were injured, and the incident had no environmental impact.
The company clarified that the ship is in a safe condition and fully capable of maneuvering, and an assessment of the incident’s consequences is underway.
It further noted that it is maintaining direct coordination with the vessel and its crew, as well as with relevant maritime security authorities in the region, to ensure the safety of the crew and is closely monitoring developments in the situation.
