The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif, confirmed that Terminal 1 (T1) will resume operations next November, adding: “It will be equipped to handle additional flights for civil aviation arriving from Saudi Arabia during Kuwait’s hosting of the Saudi Super Cup.”

Al-Yousif, speaking to the media after attending the signing ceremony for the government partner sponsorship agreement for the Saudi Super Cup football tournament at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, stated that the Ministry of Interior has taken several measures to ensure the smooth arrival of Saudi fans. Among the most prominent of these measures was increasing the capacity of the Nuweiba border crossing to accommodate 20 private booths for processing travelers.

He further noted that, as part of the measures implemented by the Ministry of Interior, players and officials participating in the matches have been exempted from providing biometric fingerprints at the airport and have been issued special identification cards to facilitate their entry into and exit from the country.
