State Minister for Development and Sustainability, Dr. Reem Al-Faleh, and State Minister for Communications and Information Technology, who also serves as Acting Minister of Media and Culture, Omar Al-Omar, announced today, Monday, the National Digital Platform for Livestock Wealth, as part of the state’s efforts to develop the livestock sector and enhance digital transformation in industries linked to food security.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Faleh said the project represents an important national step toward building an integrated digital system for managing livestock wealth in the State of Kuwait, thereby strengthening food security, improving resource management efficiency, and reinforcing principles of governance and sustainability.

She explained that the project is based on five main objectives: serving breeders, governing subsidies, enhancing livestock health and traceability, ensuring food safety, and supporting data-driven decision-making.

Al-Faleh emphasized that leveraging artificial intelligence and data analytics on the platform will enable a more accurate assessment of the current state of livestock wealth and its indicators, contributing to more efficient targeting of subsidies to eligible recipients, strengthening oversight, protecting public funds, and providing reliable data to support national planning and policies related to food security.

In this regard, Al-Faleh appreciated the cooperation and support provided by State Minister for Communications and Information Technology Omar Al-Omar and the Central Agency for Information Technology to the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources in the digital transformation journey, affirming that this integration among government entities serves as a model for institutional partnership in implementing national digital projects.

For his part, Al-Omar stated that the project aligns with the state’s direction toward digital transformation and the integration of government services, confirming that the Central Agency for Information Technology will deploy its technical expertise to support the implementation of the platform and its integration with relevant government entities in accordance with approved national information security standards.

The announcement of the project comes within the framework of Kuwait’s efforts to strengthen the food security system, consolidate sustainability and governance in the management of national resources, and harness digital transformation to develop vital sectors and enhance the efficiency of government services.
