Washington, 7 Nov (KUNA) – The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that it disabled a commercial vessel in the Gulf of Oman that attempted to breach the naval blockade imposed on Iran. In a statement on the X platform, CENTCOM said U.S. forces disabled the ship after its civilian crew ignored repeated warnings and tried to break the blockade. The statement clarified that a U.S. fighter jet fired precision munitions at the stern of the vessel, the Huda, which flies the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, thereby disabling it, after CENTCOM forces ordered the crew to evacuate the targeted sections. It noted that the targeted ship was attempting to leave territorial waters after departing from an Iranian port. Earlier on Saturday, CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper said the naval blockade had succeeded in recent months in preventing Iran from exporting crude oil worth more than $25 billion, reaffirming that the blockade would continue to be enforced with full force and strictness against all vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports.
