London, November 7 (KUNA) -- Britain announced on Saturday its successful launch of a satellite dedicated to monitoring military activities on the ground. The British Ministry of Defense stated in a press release that the satellite, named “Titania,” was placed into orbit last month and will assist the British Armed Forces in coordinating their operations on land and in the air by enhancing their ability to monitor terrestrial military activities from space. The ministry noted that this second generation of British-made satellites is the second to be sent into orbit, following the earlier launch of “Tyche.” The two satellites are managed by the British Space Command as part of the “Estar” multi-satellite program, which has a total cost of 986 million pounds sterling (approximately $1.29 billion).
