Aden, April 4 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Wednesday that they have achieved field advances on fronts in Al-Jawf Governorate, seizing positions held by Houthi militias as part of Operation “Fajr al-Yemen” (Yemen’s Dawn) and neutralizing approximately 340 of their fighters and commanders.
In a statement, Colonel Majid Al-Nazili, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said that units from the First and Second Emergency Divisions managed to take control of militia positions in the areas of Um Al-Lufayfa, Qurun Al-Sabir, and Dihida Al-Aqir in Al-Jawf Governorate in northern Yemen.
The statement added that the Armed Forces and the Popular Resistance achieved field gains along several axes in Taizz Governorate, repelling Houthi militia attempts to recapture lost positions and inflicting casualties on personnel and equipment.
It clarified that along the combat fronts, the Armed Forces carried out 1,322 targeting operations against militia positions and their military capabilities, resulting in the neutralization of approximately 340 of their fighters and commanders, and the destruction or damage of 114 military vehicles, armored cars, and equipment.
The spokesperson emphasized the continuation of military operations by the Armed Forces and the ongoing field advances to achieve the objectives of Operation “Fajr al-Yemen,” stressing the implementation of necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian property. (End) S.N.S./A.S.
