The General Customs Administration has renewed its appeal to travelers to strictly comply with the requirement to declare funds when traveling with cash or negotiable financial instruments in their own name, if the value amounts to 3,000 Kuwaiti dinars or more, or its equivalent in foreign currencies.

In an awareness post on X, the Administration clarified that every person entering or leaving Kuwait who possesses currencies or negotiable financial instruments in their own name equivalent to 3,000 Kuwaiti dinars or more must declare the value of such currencies or financial instruments to the General Customs Administration.

It emphasized that failure to declare exposes the violator to legal accountability, in accordance with Law No. (106) of 2013 and Minister of Finance Decision No. (37) of 2013.

The Administration noted that customs declaration can be submitted electronically through the General Customs Administration’s website via its e-services, or through the “Sahl” app under the General Customs Administration services by selecting the “Electronic Declaration of Funds” service.
