Arsenal, bisita sa "nagpapaalala" ng Brighton, upang ituloy ang mga panalo

London - AFP - Arsenal, the defending champion and current leader of the English Premier League, will visit the "elated" Brighton in the fifth matchday on Saturday to continue their winning streak.

Thanks to six wins in their last seven away league matches, with only one defeat, Mikel Arteta's team appears a strong favorite to beat Brighton, especially since they have not lost to them in their last seven encounters, recording five wins and two draws, although their opponent will not be easy to handle.

It may come as a surprise that Brighton, currently fifth (7 points), is the team with the most goals scored in the league after four matchdays (13 goals), but this was largely due to their 5-0 thrashing of Coventry in the previous round.

However, Brighton failed to maintain their unbeaten record, as they narrowly lost to Chelsea 3-4. Nevertheless, they surprised Manchester United by defeating them 3-2 in the League Cup, advancing to the fourth round.

Chelsea, sixth (7 points), will open the matchday against hosts Brentford, seventh (6 points), tomorrow Friday, in a "West London Derby."

Despite their attacking strength, the "Blues" are struggling defensively, which explains why they have managed only two wins in their first four matches. Their league matches this season have seen 19 goals scored, the highest number in the competition, with 10 goals scored by the team and 9 conceded.

Brentford hopes to extend their longest unbeaten run in the league, but they are also seeking wins, having drawn 10 times in their last 14 league matches.

Also on Saturday, Hull City aims to continue their successful and unexpected run, having collected 8 points without a loss to place them fourth, when they face hosts Newcastle United, 12th (5 points).

Tottenham also hopes to secure their first league win against visitors Aston Villa, who have lost three matches and managed only one point. Meanwhile, Everton will face Ipswich Town, and Nottingham Forest will meet Coventry City.

In the English Professional Football League Cup, Brighton increased the suffering of hosts Manchester United by eliminating them in the third round with a 3-2 victory.

The "Red Devils" failed to win for the third consecutive domestic match, after losing their previous league match at home to their neighbor "City" 0-1 despite the latter playing with one man fewer, following a 2-2 draw with Everton.

This is United's third loss in six matches across all competitions, which will increase pressure on manager Michael Carrick, after the team's early exit from the competition, squandering a two-goal clean sheet lead scored by Shay Lacey (8') and Mason Mount (10'), before Brighton responded with a three-goal flurry via Greek Charalampos Kostoulas (45+1'), German Pascal Gross (65'), and Belgian Maxim De Cuyper (70').

Everton advanced to the fourth round by defeating visitors Wolverhampton 1-0. Aston Villa also secured their passage by beating hosts Coventry City 3-1.

The draw for the English Professional Football League Cup produced a hotly anticipated clash between Liverpool and visitors Chelsea at "Anfield" stadium, in the fourth round at the end of next October.

In the remaining matchups, Arsenal will visit fourth-tier Fleetwood Town, Everton will host Newcastle United, while the winner of the Manchester City vs. Norwich City match will face Brighton.
