The Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources launched the first phase of its new digital platform, “Dira,” as part of its efforts to develop electronic services and update operational mechanisms, thereby facilitating procedures and improving the quality of services provided to beneficiaries.
The Acting Director General of the Authority, Faisal Al-Masbouhi, stated that the launch of the platform aligns with adopting modern digital systems and transitioning the Authority’s services to an advanced electronic system that ensures easy access and efficient transaction processing.
For his part, Dr. Khaled Al-Faiz, Head of the Epidemiology and Zoonotic Diseases Department at the Authority, explained that the platform will roll out services in phases, beginning with the registration of pets and reporting stray animals. He noted that the platform will be available via the Google Play and App Store.
Al-Faiz added that registration on the platform requires the use of the civil ID and authentication through the “Huwiyati” app, along with entering pet details, uploading photos, and specifying vaccination status. Specialized veterinary clinics will then review the data and approve the registration.
He further indicated that the platform also enables reporting of stray animals in residential areas, wild zones, and camps, with automatic geolocation to facilitate the Authority’s teams’ response to reports, particularly those involving stray dogs.
