Awaif Al-Sand Outlines Women's Role in the Ministry of Justice and Their Path to Leadership

The Accounting Club at the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) hosted Awatif Abdul Latif Al-Sand, Deputy Minister of Justice, for a seminar titled “The Role of Women in the Ministry of Justice.” The event drew significant attendance and engagement from students, particularly female students, who interacted with her professional experience and career in government service.

According to a statement issued by the club, this was the first time the club hosted a woman holding the rank of deputy minister. Al-Sand is also the first woman to hold this position in the Kuwaiti Ministry of Justice.

The seminar was moderated by Dr. Osama Al-Falah, Assistant Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, who enriched the discussion and provided students with the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the topics covered.

During the seminar, Al-Sand shared her professional experiences and encouraged students, especially female students, to aspire to excellence, develop their capabilities, and strive for leadership positions, thereby supporting their success in their professional careers.
