Al-Mushaan and Chinese ambassador lay foundation stone for Kabd water treatment plant

Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan laid the foundation stone yesterday for the project to study, design, construct, operate, and maintain the North Kabd Water Reclamation Plant and its ancillary works, in the presence of the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Yang Xin, and several senior officials from the ministry and representatives of the Chinese company implementing the project. She noted that the project includes the construction of pumping stations in the Shaddadiya, Jahra, and Mushref areas, as well as pipeline networks and tunneling networks, a central incinerator for disposing of residues from the reclamation processes, and a renewable energy system based on solar and biogas power to cover part of the project’s energy needs.
