Deputy Director of the Meteorology Department, Essam Al-Ali, stated that the country has experienced scattered light rain since yesterday morning, which is expected to continue in the coming days, with chances increasing next Thursday and occasionally becoming thunderstorms, accompanied by reduced horizontal visibility due to fog.
Al-Ali told KUNA that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country will be affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, coinciding with an upper-level low-pressure trough, leading to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds accompanied by scattered light rain, which may occasionally be thunderous.
He clarified that winds will be variable in direction, shifting to light to moderate southeasterly winds that may strengthen in some areas, noting that the chances of light rain will continue with fluctuations in the coming days.
He added that humidity will rise and persist throughout the week, with fog forming at night, particularly in coastal and agricultural areas, causing reduced horizontal visibility. The chances of scattered rain will increase next Thursday, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms and active winds.
Deputy Director of the Meteorology Department, Essam Al-Ali, urged citizens and residents to follow the weather forecast via the Department’s official website, its mobile application, and its social media accounts to stay informed about the latest weather developments.
