Abdulghafour Bader Al-Abdulghafour, Director of Resources at Al-Najah Charity Association, announced that the association will launch its new project next Friday, benefiting 150,000 people, including the poor, the needy, displaced persons, refugees, and residents of desert villages, alongside animals, birds, and agricultural activities conducted alongside the project.
Al-Abdulghafour explained that the project includes drilling wells in Africa and Yemen, distributing water tanks to our people in Palestine, and connecting water points to the homes of modest families in Egypt. He emphasized that these projects embody the message of Kuwaiti charitable work in reaching those in need and fulfilling their basic requirements.
He added that water is not merely a daily necessity, but the foundation of life, health, stability, and development, citing the divine verse: “And We made from water every living thing.” He noted that drilling a single well can transform the reality of an entire village by providing fresh water, reducing the hardship of obtaining it, supporting agriculture and livestock, and helping children attend school regularly instead of being occupied with daily water-fetching trips.
He pointed out that providing clean water sources helps reduce waterborne diseases, improves the health and living conditions of families, supports community stability, and aids them in production and self-sufficiency. It also plays a role in irrigating trees and crops and providing the essentials for a dignified life for village residents.
Al-Abdulghafour affirmed that the association draws inspiration for its water projects from the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “The best charity is providing water.” He called on benefactors and philanthropists in Kuwait to seize this opportunity to participate in the campaign and contribute to providing water for those in need, stressing that the donation door is open to everyone, even for a single dinar, as small contributions accumulate to create a significant human impact.
Al-Abdulghafour extended his thanks and appreciation to the Ministries of Social Affairs and Foreign Affairs for their efforts and cooperation in supporting charitable work and facilitating the implementation of humanitarian projects. He reaffirmed Al-Najah Charity Association’s commitment to continuing its contributions and enhancing the impact of its water projects, which contribute to alleviating the suffering of the needy and reinforcing values of solidarity and compassion.
