The national campaign for water conservation, “A Drop for the Nation,” launched under the slogan “For the Nation, We Conserve It,” was initiated by the Kuwait Water Supply Association in partnership with the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, under the patronage of Minister Dr. Sabah Al-Muxaimi, with the attendance of Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Monitoring, Control, and Supervision Centers, Engineer Fatima Abbas Jauhar Hayat.

In her speech, delivered on his behalf by Engineer Fatima Jauhar Hayat, Minister Al-Muxaimi emphasized that fostering the prudent use of water is a fundamental element in enhancing water security, alongside developing production facilities, transmission and distribution networks, and improving operational efficiency. He stressed the importance of collaboration between the Ministry and civil society organizations in preserving water resources.

He noted that the ease with which water reaches customers is backed by continuous investments and efforts, supported by an integrated system operating around the clock, which necessitates raising awareness of its value, appreciating the national efforts made to secure it, and curbing waste.

He clarified that conserving water helps reduce demand on production, lowers associated energy consumption and its environmental impacts, and affirmed that responsible consumption behavior supports service sustainability and safeguards the rights of future generations to safe and sustainable resources.

He explained that the “A Drop for the Nation” campaign reflects the role of public benefit associations in supporting national efforts and expanding community participation in conservation by translating awareness messages into daily practices, including monitoring consumption, addressing leaks, maintaining plumbing, and using water-saving devices.

He affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting purposeful initiatives, particularly those aimed at promoting a culture of conservation and enhancing synergy with the national energy and water conservation campaign “Save,” noting that sustainable awareness is achieved when water conservation becomes an ingrained behavior in families, schools, and workplaces.

He added that the slogan “For the Nation, We Conserve It” combines gratitude to God for the blessing of water, national belonging, and responsibility toward future generations, expressing his appreciation to the Kuwait Water Supply Association, chaired by Dr. Najeel Othman Al-Othman, as well as to the campaign organizers, partners, and supporters.

The event program included a speech by the Association’s Managing Director, Dr. Najeel Al-Othman, followed by a visual presentation outlining the Association’s water supply efforts within Kuwait and abroad, alongside an overview of the campaign’s pillars, stages, and awareness programs targeting various segments of society. Participating and supporting entities were honored.
