Kuwait and Italy... Military and economic cooperation

His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, received Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, with the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, and His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah, Prime Minister of Kuwait. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the strong bilateral relations between Kuwait and Italy, discussed ways to enhance, develop, and expand cooperation, particularly in economic and defense sectors, and addressed various issues of mutual interest, as well as the latest developments and updates in the regional and international arenas.

In the presence of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah and Giorgia Meloni, two memoranda of understanding and a letter of intent were signed in the fields of promoting direct investment, defense, and military-industrial cooperation.

The first memorandum of understanding concerned cooperation in promoting direct investment between the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) and the Italian Trade Agency. It was signed on behalf of the Government of the State of Kuwait by the Director General of KDIPA, Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad, and on behalf of the Italian Trade Agency by its President, Matteo Zuppa.
