Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Razik, held talks with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Algeria, Nawaf Daidan Boushibeh, on ways to enhance commercial cooperation between the two countries and explore partnership opportunities for economic operators and investors from both sides.
The Kuwaiti Embassy in Algeria said in a press statement on Thursday that the meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters in the Algerian capital, addressed prospects for developing bilateral trade and activating the anticipated outcomes of the upcoming meeting of the joint committee, thereby supporting economic cooperation between the two countries.
It added that both sides emphasized the depth of historical ties and the distinguished relations between Kuwait and Algeria, and the importance of elevating commercial and economic cooperation to match the level of political relations between the two countries and their fraternal peoples.
The discussions also covered ways to strengthen the presence of locally manufactured Algerian products in the Kuwaiti market, with a view to organizing an exhibition for these products in Kuwait, as well as exploring the possibility of establishing a joint business council for the two countries, to help expand cooperation areas and open new horizons for the private sector.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after the meeting, Ambassador Boushibeh praised the quality and diversity of Algerian products, particularly those he inspected during his recent visit to the food products exhibition in Blida Province, south of the Algerian capital, earlier this week.
