The Yemeni army has doubled the losses suffered by the Houthi group across several fronts in recent hours, announcing the execution of hundreds of targeting operations that resulted in the neutralization of approximately 500 Houthi fighters and the destruction of dozens of military vehicles. This comes amid the ongoing “Yemen’s Dawn” operation and the resumption of fierce battles south of Taiz.
Government forces and popular resistance in Taiz repelled Houthi attacks on the Shaqb front, amid shelling that targeted villages in Jabal Sabr, while clashes continued in Sanamat and Al-Masrak. Airstrikes and drone attacks extended to group positions in Marib and Al-Jawf, while the “Giants Forces” thwarted a large-scale assault in the Kuhbob mountains west of Lahej, near the corridors leading to the Bab al-Mandab strait.
Politically, Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, affirmed that “Yemen’s Dawn” would continue until its objectives are achieved. At the same time, he called on the United Nations to support a move through the Security Council to designate the Houthis as a terrorist organization, impose an arms embargo on them, and cut off their funding sources. He also urged the lifting of the siege on Taiz and the opening of roads to allow humanitarian supplies.
Over the past 24 hours, Majid al-Nazili, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced the execution of 1,164 targeting operations, stating that they resulted in the neutralization of 558 Houthi fighters, including field commanders, and the destruction or damage of 135 military vehicles and equipment. He added that government forces seized new positions in Taiz with air and artillery support, while fronts in Shabwa continued to pressure group positions, disrupting their movements and reinforcements.
In Marib and Al-Jawf, government forces announced drone strikes targeting Houthi armored vehicles, equipment, and fortifications, alongside a new missile attack on the city of Marib. The Armed Forces Media Center released footage of Houthi vehicles being targeted on Al-Jawf fronts, as well as images of strikes on fortifications and positions in Marib. Meanwhile, the drone unit of the Second Division in the “National Shield Forces” announced the targeting of a gathering of group fighters in the Al-Labanat area in Al-Jawf, and the army announced similar strikes along the Bihan axis.
