Emir and Macron Discuss Strengthening Kuwait-France Partnership

A session of official talks between the State of Kuwait and the friendly French Republic was held at Bayan Palace this morning. The Kuwaiti side was chaired by His Highness the Amir of the State, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and support him, while the French side was chaired by His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic. Also in attendance were His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him; His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister; and a number of senior officials from both countries.

During the talks, the established bilateral relations linking the two countries and their friendly peoples were reviewed, with efforts made to support and strengthen them across various fields and to broaden the frameworks of cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the French Republic toward wider horizons, particularly in economic, commercial, and investment sectors. The parties also explored ways to enhance their partnership in a manner that serves their mutual interests. Additionally, the latest developments on the regional and international scenes were discussed, particularly regarding developments in the region and the exchange of views on them.

For his part, His Excellency Minister of Diwan Amiri Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah stated that the talks were held within the framework of continuous communication and consultation between the leaderships of the two friendly countries, reflecting the close ties that bind them and their shared commitment to continuing coordination in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the peoples of both countries. He added that the discussions covered all current regional and international developments and the most important issues of mutual interest.

The talks were conducted in a friendly atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of understanding and friendship that characterizes the good relations between the two friendly countries, in a move that embodies both sides’ desire to strengthen existing cooperation across all fronts.
