Kuwait’s Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Media and Culture, Omar Al-Omar, held talks today, Sunday, with Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah Al-Sawwah, to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and develop joint relations in the fields of communications, information technology, and digital transformation.
The meeting took place during a bilateral session held on the sidelines of the 30th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Postal and Communications Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, convened in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
The discussions covered the deep-rooted fraternal and historical ties between Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, highlighting their continuous progress across various sectors. The parties also examined avenues to broaden cooperation, exchange expertise and experiences in the communications and information technology sector, reflecting the depth of bilateral relations and serving the shared interests of the two brotherly nations.
Furthermore, the meeting reviewed areas of joint cooperation in developing communications infrastructure, advancing digital transformation, leveraging modern technologies and innovation, as well as the importance of continuing coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries to support joint technical initiatives and projects, thereby contributing to the development and efficiency of digital services.
The meeting emphasized the importance of sustaining coordination and cooperation between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in technical and digital fields, strengthening their strategic partnership to support the trajectory of development and GCC integration, and keeping pace with the rapid developments in the communications and information technology sector.
Attending the meeting from the Kuwaiti side were Dr. Khaled Al-Zamil, Chairman of the Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology; Engineer Meshal Al-Zaid, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport; and Dr. Ahmed Al-Husseini, Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Transport.
