Electricity Minister discusses enhancing British companies' presence and participation in Ministry projects

The Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Muhammadi, received the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kuwait, Qudsi Rashid. The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of electricity, water, and renewable energy, as well as opportunities to strengthen the presence and participation of British companies in the Ministry’s projects, leveraging their expertise and technologies to support the development of the electricity and water sectors. The talks also covered recent regional developments and ways to address their implications for the security and sustainability of energy and water supplies, alongside a discussion of several issues of mutual interest.

The Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Muhammadi, also received the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Kuwait, Khasror Nazari. The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the electricity, water, and renewable energy sectors. The discussions highlighted Tajikistan’s pioneering experience in water resource management and opportunities for exchanging expertise and technical experiences between the two countries, thereby supporting the development of cooperation in renewable energy and resource sustainability. The meeting also addressed Tajikistan’s initiative regarding the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” (2018–2028), adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, and its role in enhancing international cooperation to confront water-related challenges.

For his part, the ambassador expressed his country’s appreciation for Kuwait’s support of development efforts in Tajikistan, looking forward to expanding the horizons of joint cooperation in a manner that serves the interests of the two friendly countries.
