Minister of Education, Engineer Sayed Jalal Al-Tabatabai, issued a decision to annul all results of the fourth-stage examinations for candidates applying for educational supervisory positions, and to re-administer the tests to all applicants. This follows the conclusion of an independent investigation committee’s review of complaints and observations regarding the integrity of procedures and the fairness of competition.
In a statement, the Ministry of Education said the decision was based on the committee’s findings, which were established to investigate concerns and violations raised during and after the examinations, with the aim of ensuring the integrity of the organizing procedures, safeguarding candidates’ rights, and guaranteeing equal opportunities among them.
The ministry clarified that the investigation revealed practices involving the illegal dissemination of electronic examination questions, which undermined fair competition and equal opportunity. It emphasized that such practices are incompatible with professional ethics and educational responsibility.
Previously, the minister had directed the formation of an independent investigation committee comprising specialists from the Fatwa and Legislation Administration and the Ministry of Education, to probe concerns and violations that marred the fourth-stage examinations for candidates applying for educational supervisory positions for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The committee examined the procedures followed in organizing and administering the examinations, reviewed the electronic tests held after training courses that concluded with an exam, verified the circulation of questions via social media platforms, and assessed the mechanisms for exam preparation, programming, and the technical and procedural aspects related to their confidentiality and integrity.
Upon completing its work, the committee submitted its final report to the Minister of Education, containing the findings of the review and investigation along with necessary recommendations, leading to the decision to annul the results and re-administer the examinations to all applicants.
The ministry stressed that the re-examinations are intended to uphold procedural integrity and reinforce principles of integrity, transparency, and fairness in filling educational supervisory posts, emphasizing that appointment to educational responsibilities must be based on objective criteria and sound procedures that ensure everyone’s rights.
It indicated that the Educational Affairs Sector will implement the necessary measures to re-administer the examinations, according to schedules and regulations to be determined later, while taking measures to ensure exam confidentiality, proper organization, and prevention of recurrence of violations.
The ministry added that the date, venue, duration of each re-exam, and prescribed scientific content will be officially announced at a later date. Candidates who attended the fourth-stage leadership training courses will be informed of the details and requirements to enable them to prepare with clear and official information.
The Ministry of Education reiterated that protecting the credibility of examinations and seriously addressing complaints and violations is a fundamental responsibility, stressing the necessity for relevant authorities to comply with the decision and the regulations governing the re-examinations, thereby enhancing trust in the mechanisms for selecting holders of educational supervisory positions.
