Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital held an awareness event titled “Specialties in Integration… For Their Sake” yesterday, organized by the Council of Radiology and Radiotherapy Departments in coordination with the National Early Detection Program for Breast Diseases, coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Health, Dr. Bathina Al-Kandari, Chair of the Council of Radiology and Radiotherapy Departments, emphasized that the event was organized to enhance integration among specialties and health teams involved in the early detection of breast cancer.
Dr. Al-Kandari noted that the combined efforts of radiology and radiotherapy services, the National Program, and primary healthcare centers support beneficiaries’ access to screening and evaluation services through integrated health pathways. She added that raising awareness about the importance of early detection encourages women to undergo screening, learn about available services, and visit health centers when needed, highlighting the importance of continued coordination among various entities and relevant personnel to enhance the quality of care provided.
The event was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Dr. Al-Mundhir Al-Hasawi, Jaber Hospital Director Dr. Nada Al-Hasan, Director of the Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control Department Dr. Wafaa Al-Kandari, Ministry of Health Official Spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sand, along with a number of hospital and department directors, heads of technical and administrative departments, and health and medical personnel from hospitals and primary healthcare centers.
