In a move reflecting the transition of charitable work from responding to immediate needs to building the foundations of life and stability, Namaa Charity, under the Kuwaiti Association for Social Reform, in partnership with KAF Bahrain, inaugurated the “Namaa and KAF Development Complex” in the United Republic of Tanzania on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The event was attended by the Kuwaiti Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Republic of Tanzania, Salem Youssef Al-Hamadani, as part of Namaa’s efforts to implement integrated development projects that combine education, healthcare, vocational training, water provision, and support for community stability.
The complex comprises a range of facilities addressing multiple needs, including a primary school and a secondary school, student and orphan dormitories, a mosque, a vocational institute, a bakery, a clinic, an artesian well, an administrative building, staff housing, a multi-service center, and an electrical generator, in addition to perimeter fencing and general site works, thereby enhancing the integration of services provided to beneficiaries.
These components aim to provide an environment that facilitates children’s learning, offers care and stability to orphans, enables youth to acquire vocational skills, and provides healthcare and water services, all of which contribute to improving the living conditions of the local community and strengthening its capacity to meet daily needs.
Ambassador Salem Youssef Al-Hamadani stated that the inauguration of the “Namaa and KAF Development Complex” embodies the bright image of Kuwaiti charitable work, which has evolved over decades from providing direct aid to contributing to the construction of development projects targeting individuals and addressing their basic needs. He added that what distinguishes the complex is its integration of several vital sectors into a single project: education opens doors to knowledge for future generations; healthcare helps protect individuals and improve their quality of life; vocational training provides youth with opportunities to acquire skills and enhance productivity; and water provision serves as a fundamental pillar for health and stability. He noted that the integration of these services reflects the importance of projects that view development as a comprehensive system.
He emphasized that these initiatives reflect the depth of the humanitarian message carried by Kuwaiti charitable institutions and their role in building bridges of cooperation and solidarity with needy communities, commending Namaa Charity’s efforts in implementing projects aimed at improving beneficiaries’ living conditions and strengthening Kuwaiti humanitarian presence in the fields of development and giving.
For his part, Khaled Mubarak Al-Shammari, Head of Programs and Initiatives at Namaa Charity, affirmed that the inauguration of the “Namaa and KAF Development Complex” represents a practical translation of Namaa’s vision for developing charitable work, ensuring it goes beyond meeting isolated needs to building an integrated environment that helps individuals learn, work, and access basic care, while providing the community with better opportunities for growth and stability.
Al-Shammari explained that the complex includes a primary school covering 780 square meters, accommodating 280 students, and a secondary school covering 880 square meters, also accommodating 280 students, alongside student and orphan dormitories covering 580 square meters, targeting 180 students or orphans. This provides an integrated educational and care system that supports children’s right to education and offers them a safer and more stable environment.
He noted that the complex also includes a mosque covering 325 square meters, accommodating approximately 560 worshippers, a vocational institute covering 140 square meters benefiting 200 individuals, and a bakery covering 100 square meters serving 500 beneficiaries. He clarified that these facilities work in tandem to meet community needs, from strengthening faith to providing opportunities
Training and food services. Al-Shamri added that the complex includes a clinic covering 260 square meters, designed to serve approximately 5,000 patients, alongside an artesian well with a depth ranging between 120 and 150 meters, benefiting around 2,000 people. He emphasized that health and water are among the most essential pillars of a dignified life, and that providing healthcare services and water sources helps alleviate burdens on beneficiary families and communities.
He clarified that the project also includes an administrative building covering 250 square meters, management housing covering 180 square meters, and a multi-service center spanning 805 square meters, in addition to a 50-kilovolt-ampere electrical generator, perimeter fencing, and general site preparation, all of which support the operation and integration of the complex’s facilities in accordance with the project’s nature and requirements.
Al-Shamri stressed that the value of the complex lies not only in the diversity of its facilities, but in the synergy of their roles: the school builds knowledge, the vocational institute opens avenues for income and production, the clinic supports human health, the well provides a vital resource for life, and the mosque strengthens the community’s connection to its faith-based values, while housing and service facilities contribute to the project’s continuity and the achievement of its objectives.
He added that Namaa Charity is committed to ensuring that its development projects respond to community needs, and that donors’ contributions translate into tangible, identifiable impacts through the services provided by the project and the target groups it serves. He affirmed that such initiatives represent an investment in human capital, opening up better opportunities for education, health, employment, and stability for future generations.
Al-Shamri concluded his statement by expressing Namaa Charity’s appreciation for philanthropists and donors who have supported its projects, emphasizing that their generosity is the foundation for the continuity and expansion of these initiatives. He called for continued support for development projects that combine relief, empowerment, and sustainability, contributing to building a more dignified and stable life for beneficiaries.
The inauguration of the “Namaa and Kaf Development Complex” embodies a shift toward enhancing multi-service projects that integrate basic human needs, granting charitable work a broader scope to create lasting impact. In this model, the role of giving does not end with providing assistance; rather, it continues through education, care, empowerment, and the building blocks of a dignified life.
