Al-Yousef chairs meeting to regulate the telecommunications sector

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef chaired a coordination meeting attended by the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Affairs and Acting Minister of Media and Culture Omar Al-Omar, the chief executive officers of telecommunications companies, and several senior security officials to discuss matters of mutual interest.

The Ministry of Interior said in a press statement yesterday that several administrative and regulatory aspects were reviewed, and measures related to the telecommunications sector and ways to facilitate their implementation were discussed, alongside exploring coordination among relevant authorities to help organize work, remove obstacles, and find appropriate solutions to the issues at hand.

It added that the meeting came in line with the Ministry’s commitment to follow up on shared matters with government entities and the private sector, and to enhance cooperation on them, thereby supporting the smooth continuation of work and the completion of related procedures within approved frameworks, and serving the public interest.
