Municipality: Continuous campaigns to remove encroachments on state property

The Kuwait Municipality has affirmed that safeguarding state property is a shared societal responsibility, emphasizing the continuation of inspection rounds and the removal of encroachments, and stressing that efforts are not limited to temporary campaigns.

Mohammed Al-Jalawi, a member of the central team at the municipality director general’s office, said in a media statement on the sidelines of an inspection round in Hawalli Governorate that the “Kuwait is More Beautiful Without Encroachments” campaign, launched last June, contributes to preserving state property and enhancing public safety.

He clarified that the inspection team removed an unlicensed structure, which was a diwaniya (gathering hall) erected near the sidewalk and utilities, after the legal deadline granted to the violator had expired and he failed to respond to the warning.

Al-Jalawi praised the cooperation of several property owners who had committed violations, noting their swift voluntary response in removing the encroachments, and called on other violators to rectify their situations and remove infractions before inspection teams reach them.

He pointed out the participation of several government entities in the campaign since its launch, including the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the Ministry of Interior, and the Public Authority for Environmental Affairs, underscoring the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

He urged citizens and residents to follow the municipality’s official accounts to stay informed about guidelines and awareness messages, and to contact the municipality to inquire about regulatory requirements, thereby facilitating procedures and helping to avoid violations.
