Kuwait Condemns Attack on King Khalid Airport, Reaffirms Solidarity with Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack launched by the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on October 10, 2026. According to the ministry’s statement, the attack resulted in civilian casualties among travelers and airport workers, including Saudi nationals and citizens of other countries, and led to the temporary suspension of operational activities at the airport.

In a statement, the ministry affirmed that the attack constitutes a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, emphasizing that repeated hostile acts targeting civilian objects and vital infrastructure represent a serious escalation and a direct threat to the safety of civilians and the security of air navigation. It stressed that those responsible must be held accountable and brought to justice.

Kuwait reaffirmed its absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its steadfast support, as well as its backing for all measures taken to safeguard the kingdom’s security and stability and to protect its citizens and residents on its territory. It underscored that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The ministry also conveyed Kuwait’s sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, as well as to the governments and peoples of the countries to which the victims belong, and to their families and loved ones, wishing the injured a swift recovery.

It called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and adopt a firm stance against these repeated attacks, ensuring the protection of civilian objects and civil aviation facilities, preventing the recurrence of such incidents, and guaranteeing that those responsible are not left unpunished.
