The General Fire Force participated in the events of the 2026 World Mental Health Day, organized by the Kuwait Center for Mental Health last Thursday, under the theme “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.” The events included an exhibition, educational lectures, and specialized workshops, with the participation of several specialists and those interested in the field of mental health. The aim was to enhance community awareness of the importance of mental health and to highlight lived experiences by listening to the voices of those who have experienced them, thereby contributing to a positive shift in societal attitudes toward mental health.
The General Fire Force’s participation aligns with its commitment to supporting awareness and community initiatives, and promoting a culture of mental health care, in line with its social responsibility and its interest in consolidating concepts of awareness, support, and collaboration with various authorities and institutions.
On the other hand, fire brigades from the Abdullah Port, Um Al-Haiman, and Support centers extinguished a fire in waste materials at a recycling plant in the Abdullah Port area yesterday afternoon. The teams began firefighting operations and successfully brought the blaze under control. The incident resulted in no injuries.
In a separate development, the General Fire Force announced that it had administratively closed 43 non-compliant facilities and issued warnings to 25 others, while issuing 101 violations during an inspection campaign in the Farwaniya Governorate.
In a press statement issued the day before yesterday, the General Fire Force said that the inspection campaign in Farwaniya was conducted in coordination with several state entities to identify buildings and facilities that violated safety and fire prevention regulations. It noted that the campaign resulted in the administrative closure of 43 facilities, the issuance of notices and warnings to 25 facilities, and the documentation of 101 violations, due to their failure to meet the requirements set by the General Fire Force.
