Sudanese Army Announces Advance in North Kordofan Amid Escalating Clashes

Clashes continued between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and their allies on multiple fronts, with escalating confrontations in the Blue Nile and Kordofan regions, coinciding with intensified use of drones and worsening humanitarian conditions in several war-affected areas.
In Blue Nile state, the SAF announced that it repelled attacks launched by the RSF and its allies near the border with Ethiopia, stating that it inflicted casualties on the attacking forces. The state capital, Damazin, also witnessed repeated drone strikes targeting sites and areas surrounding the residences of officials, while authorities announced the downing of several drones.
At the Kermak and Geissan axes, the SAF continued to reinforce its positions to secure border areas and maintain supply lines, amid ongoing tensions along the front adjacent to Ethiopia.
In North Kordofan, the SAF announced control over the Al-Muzurub area following military operations and clearing of roads and routes leading into the state. In South Kordofan, the city of Deling experienced shelling and clashes that resulted in civilian casualties, while the SAF announced the downing of drones in West Kordofan.
Confrontations extended to the western regions, where the “Joint Force,” affiliated with armed movements allied with the army, engaged in skirmishes with RSF forces near the border of West Darfur and along the desert route between Doba and Darfur, as part of efforts to secure the movement of humanitarian and commercial convoys.
The drone weapon has emerged as one of the most prominent combat tools in the current phase. The RSF is using drones to target military sites, facilities, and infrastructure in several areas, while the SAF’s air force and artillery continue to strike RSF positions, gatherings, and weapon depots in Khartoum, Darfur, and Kordofan.
In Khartoum, service and economic conditions continue to face significant pressures, marked by fuel shortages, disruption of commercial activity, and decline in health services, due to the ongoing effects of the war and sporadic clashes.
On the international level, the UN Security Council continues to discuss developments in Sudan, amid calls to strengthen civilian protection and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, alongside discussions on measures related to sanctions imposed on the parties to the conflict.
