Ministry of Education Determines Work Centers for Those Returning from Long Leaves

Kuwait’s Minister of Education, Sayyid Jalal al-Tabatabai, issued a decision today, Thursday, regarding the assignment of work centers for members of the teaching and administrative staff in general education schools following their return from long leaves, in accordance with the operational needs of schools and entities affiliated with the Ministry.
The Ministry clarified that returning from a long leave does not legally require an employee to remain in their previous work center, location, or department, provided that any transfer or change of work center is carried out in compliance with legal regulations and is not imposed as a disguised penalty.
It emphasized that the Educational Affairs Sector has the authority to organize and distribute personnel in line with the public interest and operational requirements, particularly in cases where prolonged absences necessitate filling vacancies with substitutes or reorganizing departments.
The Ministry noted that these measures fall within the regulatory powers granted to the sector, aiming to ensure continuity of operations and the regular performance of the educational institution, while adhering to the legal guidelines governing transfer decisions and the designation of work centers.
It further explained that the distribution of members of the teaching and administrative staff is tied to the actual needs of schools and departments, enabling the Ministry to address changes resulting from long leaves and to ensure the uninterrupted performance of duties and responsibilities.
