The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a workshop on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosure reports, at the invitation of the Union of Specialized Environmental Institutions and Companies, as part of efforts to raise awareness of the importance of sustainability reports, their requirements, and their implications for the economy, environment, and society. The workshop covered disclosure requirements related to regulatory authorities, notably the Capital Markets Authority and the Central Bank of Kuwait, alongside the latest initiatives of the Ministry of State for Development and Sustainability. Assistant General Manager of the Chamber, Firas Al-Adwan, emphasized that climate change has become a reality imposing challenges on countries and various sectors, prompting international institutions and economies to reconsider growth models and adopt frameworks and commitments aimed at addressing its impacts. For his part, Dr. Ali Kharibat, President of the Union of Specialized Environmental Institutions and Companies, clarified that the Union works to raise awareness about ESG disclosure reports, helping companies prepare reports that accurately reflect their actual performance and practices.
