Education Ministry Raises Resolution of Staff Distribution Disparities to 82%

The Ministry of Education has begun the actual implementation of decisions to redistribute teachers and female teachers, as well as holders of educational supervisory positions, among schools, as part of a plan aimed at achieving greater balance in the distribution of the workforce in line with the actual needs of educational institutions.

In a statement, the ministry clarified that the Educational Affairs Sector issued 8,703 transfer decisions as part of the redistribution procedures. These included 8,310 decisions for teachers and female teachers across various specializations, and 393 decisions for holders of educational supervisory positions. The average transfer distance was 11.2 kilometers.

The ministry noted that the redistribution procedures increased the rate of addressing disparities in the distribution of educational staff among schools from 34% to 82%, based on criteria grounded in the actual needs of schools, the number of classrooms and students, educational quotas, and the approved organizational structure.

The ministry emphasized that the implementation of transfer decisions sought to balance meeting schools’ needs with preserving job stability for educational staff, noting that the average general transfer distance for relocated personnel did not exceed 11.2 kilometers.

It explained that the remaining disparity is primarily linked to actual surpluses in certain specializations, including Islamic education and physical education, where the number of teachers and female teachers still exceeds the actual needs of some schools. This limits the ability to fully address these surpluses through transfers in the current phase.

The ministry affirmed its continued monitoring of the situation in these specializations and their resolution in accordance with actual needs and field developments, contributing to a more balanced, efficient, and sustainable distribution of the educational workforce.
