Tamadher Al-Sabah: Developing Energy Media Enhances Gulf Integration

Sheikha Tamadur Khalid Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director of the Public Relations and Petroleum Media Department at the Ministry of Oil, confirmed on Monday that the topics and recommendations discussed at the 37th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Petroleum Cooperation Committee represent an important step toward developing Gulf energy media and better aligning it with the energy sector’s priorities and the transformations underway in GCC member states.

In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Oil and obtained by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Sheikha Tamadur Al-Sabah said that Kuwait, in coordination with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, contributed to updating and formulating a strong and effective media strategy that keeps pace with the expanding energy domains and the rapid developments in the sector, while enhancing the integration of future and media orientations among GCC member states.

She added that the meeting approved the implementation of visual materials presented by member states, including contributions from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, along with their review and feedback, as well as aligning the energy media strategy and its implementation mechanisms to achieve the desired objectives and enhance the coherence of media messages and initiatives across GCC states in supporting and developing the energy sector.

She pointed out that one of the key initiatives proposed in this context is the “Energy Training Program,” aimed at preparing and qualifying specialized Gulf cadres to handle media and energy issues. Another initiative is the “GCC Energy Media Smart Assistant – GCC AI,” which seeks to leverage artificial intelligence technologies in media work, based on official and approved standards that consider content and information governance.

Sheikha Tamadur Al-Sabah clarified that developing Gulf energy media requires shifting the focus from merely conveying media messages to building an integrated system that includes modern content design, capacity building, and the use of modern technologies, thereby enhancing the GCC’s ability to present energy issues in a unified and impactful manner.

Sheikha Tamadur Khalid Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah participated in the meeting as part of Kuwait’s delegation, led by Oil Minister Tariq Al-Roumi, and including Deputy Minister of Oil Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malk Al-Sabah, Director of the Planning and International Relations Department at the Ministry Omar Al-Wasmi, and Head of the Chairman’s Office Affairs Team at Kuwait Petroleum Corporation Naser Al-Namshan.
