The Will Volunteer Team for People of Determination, operating under the umbrella of the Islamic World Charity Organization (IWCO), signed a cooperation and coordination agreement yesterday with the Kuwait Association for Follow-up on Disability Issues. The agreement aims to achieve functional and social integration that serves the causes of people with disabilities in Kuwait and abroad, enhances their quality of life, and removes obstacles in their path.

Ibrahim Al-Badr, Deputy General Manager of IWCO’s Projects Sector, emphasized that the organization is committed to hosting and supporting specialized volunteer teams, enabling them to build effective partnerships with civil society institutions. This approach strengthens humanitarian and community efforts and contributes to reaching deserving groups and responding to their needs more effectively.

Al-Badr stated, “This agreement is a model of purposeful community partnerships, demonstrating that integrated charitable and volunteer work yields greater impact and broader benefits. The organization continues to support initiatives that place human beings at the forefront of their priorities, contributing to the empowerment of people of determination and overcoming the difficulties they face.”

He added that IWCO views volunteer work as one of the pillars of humanitarian action, noting that partnerships between associations and specialized teams add value to charitable work by providing field expertise and the ability to identify the actual needs of beneficiaries. He highlighted the importance of transitioning from traditional cooperation to more organized and sustainable partnerships based on role integration, transforming community needs into initiatives with tangible impact.

The agreement covers four main pillars: community awareness and empowerment, exchange of expertise and administrative support, provision of aid and prosthetic devices, and official coordination and follow-up.

On his part, Khaled Al-Sharaf, Director of the Volunteer Work Department at IWCO, affirmed that the agreement represents an important step toward enhancing organized volunteer work. He said, “Volunteering is a fundamental pillar in serving people with disabilities. We appreciate this step, which opens broader horizons for training volunteer cadres and directing their efforts toward real needs on the ground.” He clarified that the agreement allows the team, given its expertise and interest in disability issues, to operate within a clear institutional framework alongside a prestigious association in this field, thereby contributing to raising community awareness and consolidating the culture of inclusion and participation.

For his part, Waleed Khaled Al-Dosari, Head of the Will Volunteer Team for People of Determination, expressed his pride in this partnership, saying, “We are proud to work under the umbrella of the Islamic World Charity Organization. This agreement provides us with an organized framework to enhance our role in identifying deserving cases and providing prosthetic devices. We look forward to it yielding concrete initiatives that serve this cherished group.”

Al-Dosari emphasized that the team dedicates its expertise and resources to the agreed-upon areas of cooperation, thereby strengthening the presence of people with disabilities in society, supporting their participation, and helping to transform their needs into practical, executable programs.

The agreement stipulates the formation of a joint coordinating committee to follow up on the implementation of agreed-upon projects and activities, and states that the cooperation between the two parties is based on a voluntary basis.
