Chamber of Commerce Discusses Expanding Economic Partnership with Italy

Emad Al-Zaid, Deputy General Manager of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the importance of strengthening economic, commercial, and investment cooperation with Italy, and expanding partnership opportunities between the private sectors of the two countries.
This came during his meeting with Alvise Pivie, President of the Italian association AssoLombarda, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador to Kuwait, Lorenzo Morini. The two sides discussed opportunities to establish new partnerships between Kuwaiti and Italian companies.
Al-Zaid stated that the Chamber is ready to leverage its resources and expertise to facilitate communication between the business communities, in addition to hosting a business meeting and an exhibition featuring Italian and Kuwaiti companies coinciding with the upcoming visit of the delegation, thereby enabling direct exploration of commercial and investment opportunities.
He added that the Chamber will work to disseminate available investment and commercial opportunities in Italy to Kuwaiti companies, contributing to increased trade exchanges and encouraging mutual investments.
The meeting covered several promising sectors for cooperation, notably the manufacturing of machinery and equipment, artificial intelligence applications in the health and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as training and knowledge exchange in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The Italian side provided an overview of AssoLombarda, which represents more than 7,100 companies across several Italian regions, including Milan, Monza, Brianza, Lodi, and Pavia. The association comprises small and medium-sized enterprises as well as multinational corporations, employing approximately 443,000 workers.
Italy is among Kuwait’s important trading partners, ranking eighth among countries exporting to the Kuwaiti market, providing a solid foundation for expanding economic and investment cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.
