Minister of Education Sayyid Jalal al-Tabataba’i affirmed that the teacher’s role extends beyond the transmission of knowledge to encompass building character, shaping awareness, instilling values, nurturing ambition, and honing skills, thereby contributing to the preparation of generations capable of shaping the future.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, al-Tabataba’i noted that while the world is witnessing rapid advancements in knowledge and artificial intelligence technologies, the human role of the teacher remains indispensable and cannot be replaced by any technology. He emphasized that teachers are the ones who believe in their students’ potential, guide them, bolster their self-confidence, and instill in them values of belonging and responsibility.
He added that this occasion serves as an opportunity to express appreciation and pride for teachers, who carry a noble mission that has had and continues to have a profound impact on human development and the progress of nations.
Clarifying that World Teachers’ Day is not merely a celebration of teachers but also a “moment of gratitude and appreciation” for their contributions, al-Tabataba’i stressed that the impact of a teacher’s work within the classroom extends far beyond the school years, manifesting in students’ achievements and their contributions to serving their country.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Education regards teachers as genuine partners in driving change and shaping Kuwait’s future, based on the conviction that education is a central pillar in societal development and in preparing future generations.
The Minister of Education called on Kuwaiti male and female teachers to continue their mission with determination and sincerity, reinforcing love for Kuwait and a sense of belonging to it, and persisting in their efforts and accomplishments, guided by the directives of the political leadership, including His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, as well as the leadership’s ongoing support and attention to education and human development.
Al-Tabataba’i extended his gratitude to “every teacher and educator” for their contributions, stating that every good value they sow in students’ hearts, every piece of knowledge that illuminates their minds, and every ambition they awaken, all contribute to preparing a generation that will bear the nation’s trust and continue its progress.
He affirmed that Kuwait deserves the best from its sons and daughters, and that the teachers’ mission will remain a fundamental pillar of its development, with their influence enduring across generations and their contributions extending into the country’s future. He concluded by wishing Kuwait, its leadership, and its people continued prosperity, progress, and success.
