Yemeni Army Breaks Violent Houthi Attack Waves West of Taiz

The Yemeni army announced that it had struck vital targets belonging to the Houthi militias in the governorates of Sana’a and Sa’ada, affirming that “the Houthis’ capabilities will not be immune to the fire of government forces.” Majid al-Nazili, the official spokesperson for the armed forces, stated that the troops had launched “painful strikes against vital Houthi targets in Sana’a and Sa’ada,” adding that “the capabilities of the Houthi militia will not be safe from the fire of our armed forces, and we will destroy them.”

Yemeni government forces broke a new wave of Houthi attacks targeting the western front of the city of Ta’iz, forcing the attackers to retreat. This came amid a widespread escalation in aerial and artillery strikes against the group’s positions, reinforcements, and supply lines across various fronts in the governorate.

For more than two weeks, the Houthi group has been pressing forward in an effort to suffocate Ta’iz from the south by controlling its rural areas and isolating it from Yemeni liberated regions toward Lahj and Aden, while also seeking to consolidate its gains in the western coastal areas and the Bab al-Mandab strait by taking control of the highlands.

Spokesperson for the armed forces, Colonel Majid al-Nazili, said that the forces carried out 71 precise targeting operations against Houthi gatherings, mobilizations, and reinforcements in the areas of Al-Aqrud, Sam’ah, Al-Ahkom, Al-Akabush, Rasn Mountain, Jarad Mountain, Bani Omar, Bani Bakari, Al-Ka’awash, and Al-atha’ir. He added that the operations resulted in the destruction of several enemy transport and support vehicles, neutralization of militia elements, and the incapacitation of their formations from continuing combat.
