Emad Al-Mutawa, director of Zakat Al-Othman under the Al-Najah Charity Association, announced the launch of the “Lump-Sum Assistance” project, aimed at supporting orphans, widows, divorced women, the sick, families of prisoners, debtors, and other eligible categories within Kuwait. The initiative seeks to alleviate the living burdens of self-reliant families and help them secure a dignified life.

In a press statement, Al-Mutawa said that Zakat Al-Othman provided lump-sum assistance to 468 families in 2025, benefiting approximately 2,500 individuals. He noted that the amount of assistance varies according to the number of family members and their actual needs, following a thorough assessment of each household’s social situation.

He clarified that these funds are disbursed only after verifying all official documents confirming the family’s need for support, in adherence to transparency and fairness in reaching eligible beneficiaries. He added that applications are accepted through the Central Assistance Platform operated by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Al-Mutawa emphasized that this project embodies the Islamic values of social solidarity, citing the Prophet’s saying: “Whoever relieves a believer of a hardship in this world, Allah will relieve him of a hardship on the Day of Resurrection,” and his statement: “The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to others.”

He stressed that the Lump-Sum Assistance project is part of a series of pioneering humanitarian initiatives implemented by Al-Najah Charity Association within Kuwait, aimed at providing a dignified life for eligible beneficiaries and reinforcing the principle of localizing charitable work in the country. The association operates in accordance with an integrated humanitarian and developmental vision that serves various segments of society.

Al-Mutawa called on philanthropists and well-wishers to support the project and help ensure its continuity, stating that the door of contribution is open to everyone, even with a single dinar, as every contribution makes a difference and impacts the lives of needy families.
