'Food Authority' Seizes Sweets Shop Using Expired Ingredients in the Capital

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition carried out inspection campaigns at food establishments in the Capital and Farwaniya governorates, as part of its efforts to strengthen oversight, ensure food safety, and protect consumer health. In the Capital governorate, the Inspection Department seized a cake and confectionery preparation shop that was using food items unfit for human consumption and expired, as well as trading adulterated foods. The campaign resulted in the issuance of violation reports and the destruction of 210.943 kilograms of food unfit for human consumption and adulterated, with appropriate legal measures taken against the violators. In Farwaniya governorate, the Authority, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, Kuwait Municipality, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, and the Public Authority for Manpower, conducted an inspection campaign targeting food establishments. The campaign led to the inspection of 10 food establishments and the issuance of 7 violation reports, within the framework of efforts to intensify oversight, ensure food safety, and protect public health.
