Al-Wahib Discusses with Italian Director General of Public Security Ways to Enhance Security Cooperation and Exchange Expertise

Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Ahmed Al-Wahayb held talks with Italian Director General of Public Security Prefect Pietro Bisani on ways to enhance security cooperation and exchange expertise between the State of Kuwait and the Italian Republic, during his official visit to the capital Rome, in the presence of Kuwait’s Ambassador to Italy, Nasser Sanhat Al-Qahtani.
Major General Al-Wahayb conveyed greetings and appreciation from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah, emphasizing Kuwait’s commitment to continuing the development of security cooperation with Italy, expanding areas of coordination, and exchanging expertise and information to serve mutual interests.
The meeting addressed several security files of common interest, foremost among them combating organized crime and illicit drug trafficking, confronting cyber, financial, and economic crimes, and strengthening border security, alongside cooperation in training and capacity-building and leveraging modern technologies in security operations.
Both sides also discussed developing mechanisms for information exchange among competent authorities, enhancing preventive and proactive capabilities to address emerging criminal patterns, and utilizing surveillance, analysis, and detection technologies to improve security performance.
During the visit, Major General Al-Wahayb met with several senior officials at the Italian Ministry of the Interior, where common security issues and ways to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise were discussed. He and his accompanying delegation also toured several departments under the Italian Ministry of the Interior, where they reviewed operational and coordination mechanisms among competent authorities, as well as key systems and technologies used to support security missions and enhance performance.
