Bader Al-Azmi, Director of the Family Foster Care Department at Kuwait’s Ministry of Social Affairs, affirmed today, Wednesday, the importance of participating in the Alternative Care and Sustainable Well-being Forum for Children Without Family Support, held in the Qatari capital, Doha, and of enhancing cooperation in the field of alternative care.

Al-Azmi explained in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that participation in such forums contributes to strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise among attendees, as well as learning about the latest methods and approaches that help provide alternative care and sustainable well-being for children.

He noted that the State of Kuwait spares no effort in caring for children deprived of family care by providing comprehensive social services encompassing psychological, health, and educational support. He emphasized that the Ministry provides everything necessary to protect children and safeguard their rights and achievements.

He stressed Kuwait’s keen interest, represented by the Ministry of Social Affairs, in participating in such forums that focus on children’s rights and well-being, and in providing alternative care that ensures a dignified life for children. He added that these events offer an opportunity to learn about efforts made to promote children’s rights and well-being, thereby increasing knowledge and benefiting from others’ experiences.

He pointed out that his attendance at the forum was at the kind invitation of Sheikhah Najla bint Ahmed Al Thani, Executive Director of the Darima Orphan Care Center, held at the Qatar National Convention Center from September 30 to October 1, with the participation of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

He noted that the forum includes a number of sessions focused on children’s rights, alternative care, and their well-being, as well as key international legislation and standards concerning children’s rights. He extended his thanks and appreciation to all those involved in organizing the forum, as well as to his brothers in the sisterly State of Qatar for their excellent hospitality and reception.
