The Director of the Meteorology Department, Essam Al-Ali, stated that the country is experiencing a relative decrease in temperatures, with weak chances of scattered rainfall starting from the day after tomorrow, Friday, which may occasionally be thunderstorm-prone next Sunday.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday, Al-Ali explained that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country will be affected by an extension of the Indian monsoon low, accompanied by a hot and humid air mass, and variable-direction winds shifting to light to moderate southeasterly winds that will intensify at times.
He added that the wind activity may cause sea waves to rise to more than six feet, urging beachgoers to exercise caution and follow weather bulletins.
Al-Ali forecast a relative drop in maximum temperatures, ranging between 40 and 43 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will range between 24 and 27 degrees Celsius across most parts of the country.
He noted that the weather will be relatively hot and humid, especially in coastal areas during the day, becoming hot then moderate at night, with continued chances of weak, scattered rainfall on Friday and a possibility of occasional thunderstorms on Sunday.
He pointed out the potential for fog to form on Saturday evening through Sunday morning, which may reduce visibility in some areas.
He called on citizens and residents to follow weather bulletins via the official website and application of the Meteorology Department, as well as its social media accounts, to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
