Al-Azraf concludes his tenure facing Oman, while Saudi Arabia faces Iraq to decide the group's runner-up

The Kuwait national football team concludes its campaign in the 27th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup (“Khaleeji Al-Diyar Al-Arabiya 27”) today, Tuesday, when it faces Oman in the third and final round of Group A matches. In the other Group A fixture, Saudi Arabia takes on Iraq.

Both matches will kick off simultaneously at 8:30 p.m. Kuwait versus Oman will be held at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, while Saudi Arabia and Iraq will meet at the Inma’ Stadium within King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

Kuwait (“The Blues”) enters its final match having lost its chance to reach the semifinals, after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Saudi Arabia in the opening round and a 3-2 loss to Iraq in the second round.

Meanwhile, Oman sits third in the group with one point, but its qualification hopes remain alive. The Omani side needs to defeat Kuwait and await the result of the Saudi Arabia-Iraq match, with goal difference serving as the tiebreaker to determine their fate.

In the other match, Saudi Arabia enters the game as group leaders with six points, having won both of their opening matches and already secured their place in the semifinals. Iraq, in second place with four points, needs a win or a draw to guarantee advancement to the next round.

The final round’s two matches will be played simultaneously, in accordance with the tournament’s regulations, to finalize the Group A standings and determine which team will join Saudi Arabia in the semifinals.
