Oman coach: Kuwait match is crucial, we will hold onto qualification hopes until the end

Oman national football team coach Tariq Al-Skeiti affirmed on Monday the importance of facing the Kuwaiti national team in the third round of the group stage of the 27th Gulf Cup (Arab Gulf Cup), stressing his team’s determination to hold on to their hopes of reaching the semi-finals until the end.

Speaking at the press conference preceding the match against Kuwait, Al-Skeiti said that Oman still has a chance in the competition and that the players will continue to work and fight to achieve the desired result, emphasizing the need to focus on the match and not give up as long as their qualification hopes remain alive.

He added that the clash with Kuwait is crucial for Oman following the results achieved in the previous two rounds, noting that the coaching staff is working to correct mistakes and learn from the lessons drawn from previous encounters.

Al-Skeiti pointed out that Oman has made good progress in recent weeks, despite changes in its squad, and confirmed that the technical staff is focused on improving players’ standards, enhancing cohesion among them, and building a team capable of delivering better performances in the coming stages.

He stressed that the players are aware of the importance of the match and the responsibility on their shoulders, and that the national team will give its all against Kuwait to keep their competitive hopes alive and conclude the group stage in the desired manner.
