Ministry of Social Affairs strengthens oversight of cooperatives by selecting national talents

Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Hawaili, affirmed that the Ministry is advancing the development of the oversight system for cooperative societies by attracting qualified national talents to fill supervisory positions, thereby supporting the protection of shareholders’ funds and enhancing the efficiency of cooperative operations.

During her attendance at part of the personal interviews for candidates applying for financial and administrative supervisor positions in the cooperative sector, Al-Hawaili stated that the selection of supervisory personnel is conducted according to clear standards that ensure fairness and equal opportunity, aiming to strengthen compliance with the laws and regulations governing cooperative work.

She noted that improving supervisory performance helps reduce violations and entrench the principles of transparency and discipline within the cooperatives. She added that the personal interviews are conducted under organized guidelines and are recorded on video to document the selection process and support the neutrality of the evaluation procedures.

Al-Hawaili praised the high level of female participation in supervisory roles within the cooperative sector, considering the involvement of female citizens a reflection of the growing presence of national talents in public sector fields and their assumption of supervisory responsibilities.

She reaffirmed the Ministry’s continued support for and empowerment of national cadres in supervisory positions, which enhances performance efficiency and improves the level of services provided to shareholders in cooperative societies.
