Communications Authority Discusses 'Microsoft' Data Center Project Requirements

The Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology (PACIT) held the first meeting of the working group tasked with monitoring the implementation of data center projects, with participation from representatives of relevant government entities and Microsoft, to review project requirements and coordinate the necessary measures to advance implementation. The meeting addressed the working group’s tasks and the project monitoring mechanism, as well as Microsoft’s needs regarding land allocation and the preparation of required infrastructure, including electricity, water, and telecommunications networks. Participants also discussed coordination mechanisms among relevant entities and identified next steps, aiming to expedite procedures and overcome challenges that may arise during project implementation, thereby supporting the fulfillment of project requirements in accordance with the established timeline. This step comes within the context of following up on data center projects and enhancing government coordination with the entities and companies involved in their implementation.
