Industry Ministry to announce winners of the Amir's Excellence Award for Industry on Monday
The General Industry Authority (GIA) will announce, on the morning of next Monday, the names of the industrial establishments that have won the Seventh Edition of the Amir’s Award for Industrial Excellence. The announcement will be made during a ceremony held under the high patronage of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait.
The GIA clarified that Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq, Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs and Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GIA, will represent His Highness the Amir at the ceremony, scheduled for September 28 of this month. The event will be attended by Shamlan Hamoud Al-Jahdali, the Acting Director General of the GIA, along with a number of industrialists and officials from the industrial sector in Kuwait.
The ceremony’s program includes the screening of a documentary film highlighting the journey of the Kuwaiti industrial sector and its factories, followed by the honoring of the winning establishments and the members of the judging panel.
The Amir’s Award for Industrial Excellence was launched in 2002. It aims to instill a culture of excellence in institutional performance, enhance competition among Kuwaiti industrial establishments, and encourage them to develop their administrative and technical capabilities by benchmarking their performance against best global practices.
The award also seeks to support a methodology of continuous improvement within industrial establishments and promote national products, thereby contributing to raising the efficiency of the sector and strengthening its capacity for development and competitiveness.
The GIA affirmed that supporting the industrial environment, improving factory performance, and motivating the national competencies working in the sector are part of the efforts aimed at strengthening the Kuwaiti industry and encouraging initiatives that lead to excellence and development.
