The Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Sabah Nasser Al-Sabah Al-Sabah, affirmed that bilateral relations between the two countries offer a unique and distinctive model of a shared destiny forged by history and cemented by steadfast positions, adding that the leaderships of both countries remain committed to building upon this foundation to enhance their security, stability, and prosperity.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday, on the occasion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Day, Ambassador Al-Sabah noted that the pages of history bear eternal testimony to the depth of these ties. He explained that King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud embarked on his historic journey to reclaim Riyadh from Kuwait, which marked the starting point of the Kingdom’s unification campaign.

He added that history repeated itself decades later when the late Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, returned to his homeland from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the liberation of Kuwait from the brutal Iraqi invasion in 1991. He clarified that these two milestones encapsulate the uniqueness of the relationship and highlight the reality that the security and destiny of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are one, transcending geographical boundaries to encompass historical and social bonds and shared inherited interests.

The Ambassador pointed out that the Kingdom’s celebration of its National Day holds a special place in the hearts of every Kuwaiti, given Saudi Arabia’s strategic and historical depth, and he praised the comprehensive developmental renaissance and the rapid achievements the Kingdom has witnessed across various fields.

He noted that this year’s National Day carries a special character due to its coincidence with the launch of “Gulf Cup 27” in the Kingdom, allowing Gulf citizens to celebrate two occasions simultaneously.

In conclusion, the Ambassador extended his highest congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, as well as to the brotherly Saudi government and people, wishing the Kingdom continued security and stability, and further development and growth for bilateral relations.
