Expired food items seized and over 40 kg destroyed during inspection round in Al-Arda Industrial Area

The General Authority for Food and Nutrition conducted an extensive inspection tour targeting several food establishments in the Al-Ardiya Industrial Area, as part of its ongoing regulatory efforts to ensure that commercial activities comply with approved health regulations and requirements.

The field inspection resulted in the identification and documentation of several serious violations, most notably the sale of expired and adulterated food products, as well as breaches related to non-compliance with mandatory health standards and violations concerning the records and certificates of employees at these establishments.

In a decisive measure to protect public health, regulatory teams destroyed approximately 40,660 kilograms of food items found to be expired or of unknown origin.

The Authority emphasized its commitment to continuing and intensifying unannounced inspection tours across various regions, reaffirming that it will not tolerate any violations and will strictly enforce the law against offenders to safeguard food safety and the health and well-being of consumers.
