Shehbaz Sharif: We stand shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia in defense of its sovereignty and the security of the Two Holy Mosques

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attempt to target Mecca with drones, affirming that his country stands “shoulder to shoulder” with Saudi Arabia in defending its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security and sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques.
In a post on his official account on the X platform, Sharif stated that the Pakistani people feel sorrow and concern over the attack, adding that “no words are strong enough to express the depth of pain and grief” over what he described as a “despicable and unforgivable act.”
The Pakistani Prime Minister praised the “exceptional vigilance, courage, and professionalism” of the Saudi armed forces, commending their swift response to the attack. He reiterated his call for all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation, noting that the region has already suffered greatly from conflicts, and that dialogue and diplomacy remain “the only sustainable path to peace.”
He emphasized that Pakistan stands firmly beside Saudi Arabia “in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the security and sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques,” affirming that protecting the holy sites is a duty for every Pakistani, as they hold a special place in his heart.
