Kuwait University students participate in the Asian University Championship and the Knowledge Youth Forum
A number of male and female students from the University of Kuwait participated in international competitions during the current month of September, including the Asian University Table Tennis Championship in Malaysia and the second edition of the Knowledge Youth Forum in Morocco.
The university stated in a press release yesterday that the Sports Activities Department under the Dean of Student Affairs participated with a student delegation in the Asian University Table Tennis Championship hosted in the Malaysian city of Kuantan, with participation from numerous universities and sports educational institutions from various Asian countries.
It noted that its participation in the championship is part of efforts to support the university sports movement and enhance the presence of its students in regional and international forums, thereby contributing to the development of their talents, refinement of their skills, and reinforcement of values such as competition, commitment, and teamwork.
Dr. Salem Al-Shammari, head of the delegation and Acting Dean of Student Affairs at the university, said that the participation aligns with the university’s policy of supporting students with athletic talents and providing an appropriate environment for developing their capabilities. He highlighted the importance of international participation in gaining experience, boosting self-confidence, and representing the State of Kuwait honorably in international sports forums.
Al-Shammari added that the university places great importance on expanding its students’ participation in local, regional, and international championships, which enhances its distinguished presence in international forums and supports its role in nurturing student talents and developing their capabilities across various fields.
The University of Kuwait was represented in the championship by two teams, one for male students and one for female students. Meanwhile, the Sports Activities Department continues to implement programs aimed at developing university sports, discovering talents, and preparing students to participate in various sports competitions.
In another development, the University of Kuwait, represented by the UNESCO Club under the Cultural and Artistic Activities Department of the Dean of Student Affairs, participated in the second edition of the Knowledge Youth Forum, held under the theme “Overcoming Crises Toward Sustainability” at the headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in Rabat, the capital of Morocco.
The university was represented by a student delegation from its various colleges, under the supervision of Abrar Al-Kandari, Head of the Cultural Department of the Cultural and Artistic Activities Department. The participation provided students with the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge and interact with other participating youth initiatives.
This participation is in line with the University of Kuwait’s strategic directions and its pillar of distinguished presence, reflecting its commitment to enhancing its international presence and expanding its participation in global forums and initiatives, thereby reflecting its academic and cultural standing.
